Global-PPS at ECCMID 2023
This past week, the 33rd European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, ECCMID, took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Just as last year, Global-PPS was there to present their findings.
To kick-off the four-day congress, Global-PPS held its annual internal meeting in collaboration with bioMérieux on Friday 14 April. More than 80 participants attended the hybrid event to listen to the project’s results, strategies and achievements. Other topics included Global-PPS as a key pillar in international AMS implementation projects such as drive-AMS, ADILA and SPARC, and testimonials from coordinators in Tanzania, Zambia and Guatemala who shared their experiences with working with Global-PPS. In conclusion, a very successful and valuable meeting!
On Sunday 16 April and Monday 17 April, Global-PPS and some of its participants presented their research findings during the poster sessions:
- Global-PPS: Antimycotic and antifungal prescribing patterns worldwide: results from the Global Point Prevalence Survey on Antimicrobial Consumption and Resistance
- Philippines (2 posters):
- Guatemala: The global point prevalence survey of antimicrobial consumption and resistance (Global-PPS): results of antimicrobial prescribing in 4 Guatemalan hospitals in 2021
- Zambia: Measuring antimicrobial use in Zambia: results from the Global-PPS for six health facilities
- Kenya & Tanzania: The global point prevalence survey of antimicrobial consumption and resistance (Global-PPS) results from public and private hospitals in Kenya and Tanzania in 2021
