Global-PPS community gathered at ESCMID Global in Vienna
Last week, the Global Point Prevalence Survey community came together for its annual meeting, held in collaboration with bioMérieux at the start of the ESCMID Global 2025 congress in Vienna. With over 160 participants joining both onsite and online, it was a vibrant and inspiring event that showcased the power of global collaboration in antimicrobial stewardship.
The meeting provided a platform to share Global-PPS results, explore strategies to address key challenges in antimicrobial use, and discuss alignment opportunities with the WHO-PPS. A particular highlight was the diverse set of speakers from Ghana, Syria, the UK, the Philippines, and South Africa. Each shared real-world experiences with implementing the Global-PPS in inpatient and outpatient settings, bringing valuable perspectives and practical lessons to the table. The programme also featured presentations on the role of Global-PPS in data-driven projects such as drive-AMS and ADILA.

The Global-PPS delegates also presented seven posters at ESCMID Global, sharing their latest research findings and insights:
